Dexoren S Eye/Ear Drops is to be used only in the affected eye or ear. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Use it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor or as instructed in the label. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Do not use too much or too little. Complete your dose and do not stop using the medicine even if you feel better until the doctor says it is alright to stop.
Use of this medicine may cause application site reactions such as burning sensation, irritation, itching, and redness immediately after instilling the medicine. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your nose or mouth, rinse it off with plenty of water.
Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.
Dexoren S Eye/Ear Drops is a prescription medicine used to treat bacterial infections of the eye or ear. It works by killing and stopping the growth of the bacteria. It also blocks the production of certain chemicals that cause inflammation and itchiness in the eyes/ears.
The pharmacokinetics of chloramphenicol succinate have been described by a 2-compartment model. The reported values for the apparent volume of distribution range from 0.2 to 3.1 L/kg. Chloramphenicol succinate is metabolised (hydrolysed) by esterases in the body to active chloramphenicol.According to the manufacturer's labeling, the pharmacokinetics of oral dexamethasone is dose-proportional between the dose range of 0.5 to 40 mg. Absorption: Dexamethasone median time to peak concentrations (Tmax) is 1 hour (range: 0.5 to 4 hours).

Chloramphenicol+Dexamethasone is used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by the bacteria to carry out vital functions. Dexamethasone is a steroid medicine.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Dexoren S Eye+Ear Drops may change. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.

If you miss a dose of Dexoren S Eye/Ear Drops, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

It should usually be used twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
Wash your hands first before applying Dexoren S Eye/Ear Drops. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye/ear or any other surface. If it does, squeeze out two or three drops straightaway onto some tissue and rinse the tip with saltwater.
