Deys Milk OF Magnesia 0.311gm Tablet should be taken as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food. Take the medicine regularly and at the same time(s) each day to get the most benefit. Your dose may go up or down depending on how well it helps your symptoms. Do not take more than you are advised to and, if you miss a dose, do not take an extra one to make up for it. This medicine takes at least 48 hours to work. Talk to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after three days.
It is a laxative (osmotic-type) that is thought to work by drawing water into the intestines, an effect that helps to cause movement of the intestines. This medication is also used to treat symptoms caused by too much stomach acid such as heartburn, upset stomach, or indigestion.
Unless a patient is deficient in magnesium, very little is absorbed by the intestine. Overall, about 15%-50% of the magnesium hydroxide suspension is absorbed systemically. However, it does not undergo any metabolism as it is rapidly excreted in the urine

Milk of Magnesia reduces stomach acid, and increases water in the intestines which may induce bowel movements. Milk of Magnesia is used as a laxative to relieve occasional constipation. Milk of Magnesia is also used as an antacid to relieve indigestion, sour stomach, and heartburn
Magnesium hydroxide can decrease the absorption of other drugs such as dasatinib, delavirdine, atazanavir, gabapentin, digoxin, mycophenolate, phosphate supplements (such as potassium phosphate), tetracycline antibiotics (such as doxycycline, minocycline), certain azole antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole)
Do not chew, crush or break it. Deys Milk OF Magnesia 0.311gm Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Deys Milk OF Magnesia 0.311gm Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Deys Milk OF Magnesia 0.311gm Tablet is used for the treatment of constipation.
It should preferably be taken at bedtime as it requires 6 to 8 hours to show effect.
It is usually taken once a day as needed for up to 2 weeks. Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
Take it atleast 2 hours after taking other medicines, as it may interfere with the absorption of other medicines.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach disorders such as appendicitis or a blockage in your bowel.

Eat more fiber in your diet. Recommended daily intake is 20-35g
Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day
Exercise regularly at least 3 times per week
Do not hold in stool as that can worsen bowel issues
