Dicon 50mg Tablet is to be taken with food. Take it regularly and do not stop taking the medicine even if you get better until that doctor tells you it is alright to stop. Along with taking the medicine, exercise regularly to strengthen muscles around the affected joint and manage your weight.The use of this medicine may cause some common side effects like diarrhea or discoloration of urine. If these side effects do no go away with time or bother you, talk to your doctor. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these symptoms.
Dicon 50mg Tablet is a proteoglycan synthesis stimulator. It works by building cartilage (soft connective tissue around the joints) leading to joint repair. It also lowers pain and inflammation (swelling).
Diacerein (DIA) is 4,5-Bis (acetyloxy)-9,10-dioxo-2 anthracenecarboxylic acid (Fig. 1). It is a novel anti-inflammatory drug used for the treatment of osteoarthritis and it is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis when used in combination with other drugs.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

If you are suffering from any of the following diseases, you should not take Diacerein unless your doctor advises you to do so -
Allergy
Kidney Disease
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Dicon 50mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Dicon 50mg Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Dicon 50mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Diacerein is a symptomatic slow-acting drug in osteoarthritis (SYSADOA) with anti-inflammatory, anti-catabolic and pro-anabolic properties on cartilage and synovial membrane. It has also recently been shown to have protective effects against subchondral bone remodelling.
DIACEREIN may interact with water tablets (furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide) and heart-related medicines (digoxin, digitoxin).
Do not chew, crush or break it. Dicon 50mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Dicon 50mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Dicon 50mg Tablet helps relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis.
Exercise to strengthen muscles around the affected joint and manage your weight along with taking this medication.
It may take several weeks to see treatment benefits. Keep taking the medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
It may increase your blood sugar level. If you are diabetic, monitor your levels regularly.
Do not take Dicon 50mg Tablet if you are suffering from diarrhea or are above 60 years of age.
Let your doctor know if your symptoms do not improve even after two to three months of taking the medication.
