Din 40mg Injection is given as an injection under the medical supervision of a doctor. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
Drotaverine is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4), which is an enzyme responsible for the degradation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Inhibition of PDE4 leads to elevated levels of cAMP, leading to smooth muscle relaxation.
Drotaverine is mainly eliminated via hepatic metabolism. About 67% of the drug is found in feces and 20% of the drug was eliminated with urine. Following oral administration of a single 80 mg dose, the mean half-life was 9.11 ± 1.29 hours. Following an intravenous dose of 80 mg, the mean half-life 9.33 ± 1.02 hours.

Drotaverine has been used in the symptomatic treatment of various spastic conditions, such as gastrointestinal diseases, biliary dyskinesia, and vasomotor diseases associated with smooth muscle spasms. It also has been investigated in dysmenorrhea, abortion, 3 and augmentation of labour.
Drug-Drug Interactions: DROTAVERINE may interact with anti-Parkinson (levodopa), painkillers, anti-muscarinic drugs, and benzodiazepines. Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established. Drug-Disease Interactions: DROTAVERINE may have interactions with porphyria, heart, kidney and liver problems.

If you miss a dose of Din 40mg Injection, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Din 40mg Injection helps relieve pain due to smooth muscle spasms such as menstrual pain, pain due to kidney stone, and colicky pain.
Take it as per dose and duration suggested by your doctor.
It may cause a drop in your blood pressure. Monitor your blood pressure regularly and inform your doctor if you have a history of low blood pressure.
Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Din 40mg Injection may cause dizziness.
Inform your doctor if you have severe kidney, liver, or heart disease.
Din 40mg Injection is an anti-spasmodic medicine which relieves contractions (spasms) associated with smooth muscles in the abdomen.
