Mechanism Of Action

Ditryp Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amitriptyline and Chlordiazepoxide, which treats depression. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.

Pharmacokinets

Amitriptyline undergoes extensive hepatic presystemic elimination, and its systemic bioavailability ranges from 33% to 62% after oral administration [2]. A highly lipophilic compound, amitriptyline is widely distributed throughout the body and extensively bound to tissue and plasma proteins.Chlordiazepoxide is a long-acting benzodiazepine drug. The half-life of Chlordiazepoxide is 5 – 30 hours but has an active benzodiazepine metabolite (desmethyldiazepam), which has a half-life of 36 – 200 hours.
