Diucontin-K 20mg/300mg Tablet will make you lose excess water through urine while maintaining potassium balance in the body. It is best to take this medicine in the morning along with food to avoid frequent urination at night time. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you remember to take it. The dose and duration of treatment will depend on what you are being treated for. Do not stop taking it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better.
Diucontin-K 20mg/300mg Tablet helps get rid of the extra water and electrolytes from your body by increasing the amount of urine produced. This enables your body to get rid of extra water thereby relieving symptoms such as shortness of breath and swelling in your arms, legs or abdomen.
Furosemide is a diuretic that is used in anti-hypertensive therapy and for the relief of edema. After oral administration furosemide is rapidly but incompletely absorbed, resulting in an oral bioavailability of ~60 %. Peak plasma drug concentrations are reached 1-2h after oral administration.Potassium ions participate in a number of essential physiological processes, including the maintenance of intracellular tonicity; the transmission of nerve impulses; the contraction of cardiac, skeletal, and smooth muscle; and the maintenance of normal renal function.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Diucontin-K 20mg/300mg Tablet.

This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Diucontin K Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Acetylsalicylic acid
Aminoglycoside antibiotics
Antihypertensive drugs
Cyclosporine A
Ethacrynic acid
High doses of salicylates
Indomethacin
Lithium
Mannitol
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
Do not chew, crush or break it. Diucontin-K 20mg/300mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Diucontin-K 20mg/300mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It may cause a sudden drop in sodium levels in the blood. Avoid a low sodium diet while you are taking this medication.
If you have diabetes, Diucontin-K 20mg/300mg Tablet could affect your blood sugar levels. Test your blood sugar regularly and speak with your doctor if you notice any significant changes.
Diucontin-K 20mg/300mg Tablet help you to lose water. If, however, you lose too much fluid, you may become dehydrated. This will make you feel thirsty and make your skin look and feel dry. Let your doctor know if this happens, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
