Divacon Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as per your doctor's advice. You will have to take the pill on day one of your menstrual cycle and continue taking it for a whole month. Once the pack gets over, start with a new one. If you experience vomiting within 4 hours of dose intake, take another tablet. In case you missed your dose and you are late by 12 hours in taking the missed dose, use a condom during intercourse for a period of 2 days.
Divacon Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive pill. It works by preventing the release of egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. It also changes the lining of the womb and renders it unsuitable for pregnancy.
Ethinylestradiol has an intravenous clearance of 16.47L/h, and an estimated renal clearance of approximately 2.1L/h. A 30µg oral dose has a clearance of 58.0±19.8L/h and a 1.2mg topical dose has a clearance of 303.5±100.5L/h.The bioavailability of levonorgestrel is approximately 95% (range 85 to 100%). The plasma protein binding of levonorgestrel is about 98%. It is bound 50% to albumin and 48% to SHBG.

History of jaundice during past pregnancy

Divacon Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Divacon Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Divacon Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol combination is used to prevent pregnancy. It works by stopping a woman's egg from fully developing each month. The egg can no longer accept a sperm and fertilization (pregnancy) is prevented.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Divacon Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Divacon Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Aminoglutethimide
Barbiturates
Bosentan
Carbamazepine
Dicoumarol
Felbamate
Griseofulvin
Hydrocortisone
Oxcarbazepine
Phenobarbital
Do not chew, crush or break it. Divacon Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

If you miss a dose of Divacon Tablet, please consult your doctor.

It also results in lighter, less painful and more regular menstrual bleeding.
Take your pill at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
You may experience menstrual irregularities such as spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods or missed periods. Consult your doctor if this persists.
Do not use Divacon Tablet if you are obese, over 35, smoke, on prolonged bed rest or have a history of blood clots.
Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain or changes in vision. These could be symptoms of a blood clot in a vein.

Divacon Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive medicine that contains two hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is used to prevent pregnancy.
Q. What if I forget to take Divacon Tablet?
If you forget to take one tablet, take it as soon as you remember, even if it means taking two tablets at same time and then follow the usual dosing schedule. However, if you forget to take two or more doses, you may not be totally protected against pregnancy. In this case, start taking the tablet as soon as you remember and use a non-hormonal method of contraception such as condoms for at least next 7 days to prevent pregnancy. Frequent missing of doses may lead to unexpected vaginal bleeding or spotting (blood stain). Consult your doctor if this persists.

Take this medicine as per the advice of your doctor. However, take it at the same time each day, to ensure consistent levels of medicine in your body.
Q. Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Divacon Tablet?
The use of Divacon Tablet is not recommended to patients with known allergy to any of its components or excipients. It is not advised to be used by patients with a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, migraine headache, liver disease or tumors, uterine bleeding, breast cancer, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism (blood clot).
Q. Can Divacon Tablet be taken by a patient who smokes?
Divacon Tablet should not be taken by a person who smokes. Smoking increases the risk of serious side effects like death from heart attack, blood clots or stroke. The risk increases in patients who are obese or over 35 years of age and people who are heavy smokers. Inform your doctor if you smoke, before taking Divacon Tablet.
Q. What if I miss my regular menstrual periods while taking Divacon Tablet?
If you miss your menstrual periods while taking Divacon Tablet, you may be pregnant. Some women may miss periods or have light periods while taking Divacon Tablet even if they are not pregnant. Contact your doctor if you think you are pregnant or have missed one or two periods. This may happen in case you are not taking Divacon Tablet at the same time every day.
Q. Can Divacon Tablet cause bleeding or spotting between the regular menstrual periods?
Yes, Divacon Tablet can cause some unexpected bleeding or spotting, especially during the first three months. Do not stop taking Divacon Tablet because of this. This bleeding or spotting decreases with time. You may have unexpected bleeding if you do not take the pills regularly. Consult your doctor if the spotting continues for more than seven days or if the bleeding is heavy.
Q. What if I vomit after taking Divacon Tablet?
If you vomit within 3-4 hours after taking Divacon Tablet tablet, then it is considered as a missed dose. So, you should take an another dose as soon as you feel well enough.
Q. What are the common side effects of taking Divacon Tablet?
You may experience irregular vaginal bleeding while taking Divacon Tablet. Other common side effects include headache, nausea (feeling sick), acne, depression (sad mood), and breast pain. Most of them are temporary. If these persist, consult with your doctor.
