Divaine 50 Tablet is also used to treat many sexually transmitted diseases and a skin condition known as acne. It may be taken with or without food. However, you should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for, but you should always complete a full course of this antibiotic as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it until you have finished, even when you feel better. If you stop taking it early, some bacteria may survive and the infection may come back.
During the last 30 years, minocycline, a wide-spectrum antimicrobial agent, has been effective against MDR Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial infections. As with other tetracyclines, the mechanism of action of minocycline involves attaching to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit and preventing protein synthesis.
Minocycline is a semisynthetic derivative of tetracycline that has a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Compared to other tetracyclines, it has excellent penetration into tissues and a long elimination half-life (4, 5).
