Doloswift 20mg Injection is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation (pain and swelling).


Pharmacokinets

Piroxicam is highly bound (approximately 99%) to plasma proteins and has a small distribution volume (approximately 10 l). Despite its high plasma binding, the drug readily penetrates into synovial fluid. Piroxicam has a long elimination half-life of about 50 h.

Indications

Piroxicam is indicated for symptomatic relief of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis. Due to its safety profile (see sections 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4), piroxicam is not a first line option should an NSAID be indicated.

PIROXICAM may have interaction with ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin (used to relieve pain), duloxetine (used to treat depression), metoprolol, atenolol, and lisinopril (used to treat high blood pressure), warfarin (used to prevent blood clotting), celecoxib, prednisone, and meloxicam (used to treat arthritis), sertraline (used to treat depression), and drugs used to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention.
