Dolowin Old Tablet can be taken with food. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms, for the shortest possible time. You should take this medicine regularly while you need it. Try not to miss doses as this will make the medicine less effective.
Dolowin Tablet works by blocking the activity of an enzyme that is responsible for the formation of prostaglandins, thereby relieving pain, fever, and swelling.
Pharmacokinetics and ventilatory effects of a single intravenous dose of 0.5 mg/kg of pentazocine were studied in ten children aged 4 to 8 years after ophthalmic surgery. Elimination half-life (mean +/- S.D.) was 3.0 +/- 1.5 hr and clearance 21.8 +/- 5.9 ml/min./kg.

It should also not be used for a long time or in increased amounts at term during pregnancy.

Dolowin Old Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Dolowin Old Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

If you miss a dose of Dolowin Old Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Dolowin Old Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, especially in the beginning of the treatment. Do not drive or work with tools or machinery if your alertness is affected. It is not advisable to drink alcohol during treatment with this medicine as it might increase sleepiness.
