Don 1mg Tablet is taken with or without food, preferably at night. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms. However, discontinue this medicine immediately if you experience Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS), characterized by fever, muscle rigidity, and altered consciousness or seizures.
Don 1mg Tablet is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by affecting the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts and behavior.
Risperidone is rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration; less than 1% is excreted unchanged in the feces. The principal metabolite was found to be 9-hydroxyrisperidone. Hydroxylation of risperidone is subject to the same genetic polymorphism as debrisoquine and dextromethorphan.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Risperidone is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia and irritability associated with autistic disorder. It is also indicated as monotherapy, or adjunctly with lithium or valproic acid, for the treatment of acute mania or mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder.

Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Don 1mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It may cause increase in weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, and fat. Eat healthy, exercise, and monitor your levels regularly.
Inform your doctor if you experience any abnormal movements or restlessness.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart diseases as Don 1mg Tablet can increase your risk of irregular heartbeat.
Do not stop taking Don 1mg Tablet without talking to your doctor first as it may cause worsening of symptoms.

Q. Can I drive vehicles while taking Don 1mg Tablet?
Don 1mg Tablet sometimes can cause dizziness, tiredness, and vision problems which can affect the ability of a person to drive and use heavy machines. Hence, the patients on Don 1mg Tablet are advised not to drive or operate machinery without consulting the doctor.
Q. Can I take my medicines for epilepsy while taking Don 1mg Tablet?
You should not stop taking your anti-epileptic medicines while taking other medications. Some antiepileptic medications like Carbamazepine, phenytoin may alter the blood levels of Don 1mg Tablet and therefore special caution should be ensured while taking these medications. The dose of Don 1mg Tablet should be adjusted as needed while taking along with antiepileptic drugs. If you start or stop taking such medicines you may need a different dose of Don 1mg Tablet.
