Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet is taken with or without food, preferably at night. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. It is important not to stop this medicine suddenly without talking to the doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.
Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of schizophrenia. It works by modulating the action of certain chemical messengers in the brain that affect thoughts.
Risperidone is rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration; less than 1% is excreted unchanged in the feces. The principal metabolite was found to be 9-hydroxyrisperidone. Hydroxylation of risperidone is subject to the same genetic polymorphism as debrisoquine and dextromethorphan.Trihexyphenidyl is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The onset of action is within 1 hour after oral dosing. The peak activity is noted after 2 to 3 hours. The duration of action of one single dose is 6 to 12 hours in a dose dependent manner.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Hypersensitivity to Don LS Tablet is a contraindication. In addition, Don LS Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:
Acute narrow angle glaucoma
Cardiac failure
Children under 18 years of age
Chronic pulmonary disease
Do not consume along with furosemide
Hypersensitivity
Paralytic ileus
Pregnancy and lactation
Prostatic hypertrophy
Sick sinus syndrome
Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

RISPERIDONE+TRIHEXYPHENIDYL is used to treat schizophrenia (Mental illness in which a person confuses), acute manic episodes (irritable mood, having suicidal thoughts). RISPERIDONE+TRIHEXYPHENIDYL is a fixed-dose combination composed of two different medicines, namely, Risperidone and, Trihexyphenidyl.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Don LS Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Don LS Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Acetaminophen
Alcohol
Alprazolam
Aripiprazole
Aspirin
Carbamazepine
Cholecalciferol
Clonazepam
Clozapine
Duloxetine
Do not chew, crush or break it. Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Trihexyphenidyl controls drug induced abnormal movements.
Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medication as it may lower its efficacy.
It can cause dry mouth. Maintain good oral hygiene,drink water, chew sugarless gum, or suck on hard candy for the dry mouth.
It may cause an increase in weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, and triglycerides (fat). Eat healthy, exercise, and monitor your levels regularly.
Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma or trouble passing urine.
Do not stop taking Don LS 2 mg/2 mg Tablet without talking to your doctor first as it may cause worsening of symptoms.
