Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine that is advised to be taken as suggested by the doctor. It should be taken with food, but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as an overdose of it may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The treatment must be completed even if you feel better to ensure a complete recovery.
Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Ciprofloxacin and Tinidazole. Ciprofloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Tinidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
The pharmacokinetics of ciprofloxacin in healthy volunteers include a time to peak concentrations after oral dosage (tmax) of 1–1.5 h, oral availability of 0.5–0.7, protein binding of 0.2–0.3, volume of distribution (V) of 2–3 l kg−1, half-life (t1/2) of 3–4 h and fraction excreted unchanged in the urine of 0.4–0.6.The plasma half-life of tinidazole is approximately 12-14 hours. Tinidazole is excreted by the liver and the kidneys. Tinidazole is excreted in the urine mainly as unchanged drug (approximately 20-25% of the administered dose). Approximately 12% of the drug is excreted in the feces.

Hypersensitivity to Donnagyl H Tablet is a contraindication. In addition, Donnagyl H Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:

Decreased neutrophils

Lactation
Mother who is producing milk and breastfeeding
Muscle disorder
Neurological disorder
Numbness
Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Consuming alcohol while taking Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Baby should be closely monitored for development of fever, loss of appetite and diarrhea. In case, any of the above happens please inform your doctor immediately.

Ciprofloxacin+Tinidazole is used for bacterial & parasitic infections. It is used for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections such as acute diarrhea or dysentery, gynecological infections, lung infections and urinary infections.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Donnagyl H Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Donnagyl H Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
Acetaminophen
Alcohol
Antacids
Ascorbic acid
Atovaquone
Caffeine
Cetirizine
Cholecalciferol
Ciprofloxacin
Class IA or III Antiarrhythmics
Do not chew, crush or break it. Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Your doctor has prescribed this combination medicine for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery.
Diarrhea can cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids to help rehydrate you.
Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours.
Do not use Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated.
It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet as it may irritate your stomach and also cause excessive drowsiness.
Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

Take Donnagyl H 250 mg/300 mg Tablet as soon as you remember it. However, do not take it if it's almost time for your next dose. Also, do not take an extra dose to make up for your missed dose.
