Dytor 100 Tablet helps your body get rid of extra water and salt through urine. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines as per the dose advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. It is best to avoid taking this medicine within 4 hours of your bedtime to prevent having to get up at night to urinate.It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. If you stop taking it without consulting your doctor, your condition may worsen. Lifestyle changes like reducing stress, restricting salt intake, and stopping smoking may help this medication work better.
Torasemide acts on the kidneys to eliminate the excess water and salt from the body. It removes excess water, salt from the body and does not affect the electrolyte and acid-base balance of the body.
The pharmacokinetics of torasemide are significantly influenced by liver disease. Total plasma clearance of torasemide was reduced to about half of that found in the control group, yielding an increase in elimination half-life.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Torsemide acts on electrolyte channels in the renal tubules. Significant adverse events include electrolyte abnormalities, photosensitive reactions, and hypotension. Contraindications to use are sulfa allergy, anuria, and hepatic coma.
Dytor 100 Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Dytor 100 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Dytor 100 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Edema secondary to the following.
Hypertension (not a first-line agent)[5]: Initial oral dose is 5 mg once daily, and the dose may increase to 10 mg daily after 4 to 6 weeks.
Salicylates. Taking torsemide with high doses of drugs called salicylates can cause the levels of the salicylate in your blood to become dangerously high.
Cholestyramine. Cholestyramine may stop your body from absorbing the right amount of torsemide.
Probenecid.
Lithium.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Dytor 100 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Dytor 100 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Consult a doctor before taking any medicines.
Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate.
Monitor your blood pressure after starting Dytor 100 Tablet, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down.
Consult your doctor if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or muscle weakness that does not go away.
Take potassium supplements or potassium-rich diet (banana, spinach, coconut water, etc.) as Dytor 100 Tablet can decrease your potassium levels and lead to dehydration.
You may be asked to get regular blood tests done to monitor your kidney function.

Yes, Dytor 100 Tablet may raise blood sugar levels causing hyperglycemia. Hence, it is important to keep a track of your blood glucose levels during treatment with Dytor 100 Tablet.

The common side effects of Dytor 100 Tablet include headache, dizziness, dehydration, constipation, decreased blood pressure and stomach upset. Some of the serious side effects of Dytor 100 Tablet include dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, rapid or excessive weight loss, vomiting blood, chest pain, difficulty breathing or swallowing, blisters or peeling skin, hives, rash, and itching. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any such symptoms.
Q. Does Dytor 100 Tablet increase creatinine?
Yes, Dytor 100 Tablet may cause a mild increase in creatinine values depending on the dose you are taking. These increased creatinine levels may increase slightly more when this medicine is used for long term. However, with discontinuation of the treatment, these levels return to their base value.
Q. Does Dytor 100 Tablet cause loss of potassium?
Dytor 100 Tablet may not cause direct potassium loss. But, in some cases, its use may cause excess loss of water which may lead to dehydration. This, as a result, may cause loss of potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium.
Q. My blood pressure is controlled now. Can I stop taking Dytor 100 Tablet?
Do not stop taking Dytor 100 Tablet without talking to your doctor. Stopping the medicine may not overshoot your blood pressure levels but may make your condition as it was before treatment. Therefore, discuss this with your doctor who will advise you to change the medicine or the dosage as per your requirement.

Take Dytor 100 Tablet exactly as advised by your doctor. Generally, it is recommended to take Dytor 100 Tablet once daily preferably at the same time each day. Dytor 100 Tablet is known to cause excess urination, and hence it is advised to take it in the morning.
Q. Is Dytor 100 Tablet stronger than furosemide?
Both Dytor 100 Tablet and furosemide are almost similar in terms of safety and effectiveness. The only difference is that Dytor 100 Tablet has a longer duration of action in comparison to furosemide but the effect of both starts within an hour of intake.
