Dytor 100 Tablet helps your body get rid of extra water and salt through urine. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines as per the dose advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. It is best to avoid taking this medicine within 4 hours of your bedtime to prevent having to get up at night to urinate.It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. If you stop taking it without consulting your doctor, your condition may worsen. Lifestyle changes like reducing stress, restricting salt intake, and stopping smoking may help this medication work better.

Mechanism Of Action

Torasemide acts on the kidneys to eliminate the excess water and salt from the body. It removes excess water, salt from the body and does not affect the electrolyte and acid-base balance of the body.

Pharmacokinets

The pharmacokinetics of torasemide are significantly influenced by liver disease. Total plasma clearance of torasemide was reduced to about half of that found in the control group, yielding an increase in elimination half-life.

Contra Indications

Indications

Edema secondary to the following.

Hypertension (not a first-line agent)[5]: Initial oral dose is 5 mg once daily, and the dose may increase to 10 mg daily after 4 to 6 weeks.

Interactions

Salicylates. Taking torsemide with high doses of drugs called salicylates can cause the levels of the salicylate in your blood to become dangerously high.

Cholestyramine. Cholestyramine may stop your body from absorbing the right amount of torsemide.

Probenecid.

Lithium.

Do not chew, crush or break it. Dytor 100 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Dytor 100 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
