Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control the high blood sugar levels in your body after each meal. It is used when other similar medicines along with a restricted diet, are unable to control abnormally high blood sugar levels.
The anti-hypoglycaemic action of voglibose results from a reversible inhibition of membrane bound intestines α glycosidase hydrolize enzymes which hydrolize oligosaccharides and disaccharides to glucose and other monosaccharides in the brush border of the small intestine.
voglibose is poorly absorbed after oral administration. However, systematic adverse effects have been observed. Metabolism: the metabolism of voglibose in liver is negligible. Excretion: The renal excretion is negligible and plasma concentations after oral dose have been undetectable

Contraindications: Voglibose is contraindicated in: Hypersensitivity to the drug or to any of its components. Diabetic ketoacidosis. Inflammatory bowel diease, colonic ulcerations or partial intestinal obstructions and patients being predisposed to intestinal obstruction
Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet.
Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Indications. Voglibose is used in DM for reduction in PPHG, only when diet and/or exercise with lifestyle modification or OHAs or insulin preparations, in addition to diet and/or exercise, do not result in an adequate glycaemic control
Insulin glulisine The risk or severity of hypoglycemia can be increased when Voglibose is combined with Insulin glulisine.
Insulin human The risk or severity of hypoglycemia can be increased when Voglibose is combined with Insulin human.
Do not chew, crush or break it. Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet is used together with other diabetes medicines to control blood sugar and avoid long-term complications.
You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet.
Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet lowers your post-meal blood sugar levels. Therefore, it should be taken before meals.
Side effects such as stomach pain, gas, and diarrhea may occur during the first few weeks of treatment but should get better with time.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Q. Does Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet cause weight loss?
There is evidence that normal doses of Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet do not cause significant weight loss. However, very high doses of this medicine can affect the absorption of food, thereby causing weight loss. Do not take this medication for weight loss as it is not approved for the treatment of obesity. Do consult your doctor before starting this medication.
Q. How should you take Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet?
Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet is usually prescribed to be taken orally three times daily immediately before each meal. Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet may be given along with a controlled diet. However, in case Ecovog 0.2mg Tablet does not work alone, it may be given along with a proper diet and other antidiabetic medicines. Your doctor may further increase your doses if the given doses do not provide sufficient control over the blood sugar levels. Do not take this medication by yourself and consult your doctor before starting this medication.
