Entofoam NF Cream is meant only for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. You should normally clean and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of the medicine evenly on the affected skin. You should not apply it on open wounds or damaged skin.


Use it regularly to get the maximum benefit from it. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with plenty of water in case of accidental contact. Avoid covering the treated area with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor.


It is usually well tolerated with little or no side effects. However it may cause application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness in some people. These side effects are temporary and usually go away with time. However, if they persist or worsen, let your doctor know. Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform your doctor if you are taking antidiabetic drugs (insulin), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen), blood thinners (warfarin), cardiac glycosides (digoxin), diuretics (water tablets), medicines used to treat glaucoma (acetazolamide), central nervous system stimulant (ephedrine), antituberculosis drugs (rifabutin, rifampicin), anticonvulsants (phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine, primidone), growth hormone (somatropin), oral contraceptive, anti-progesterone (mifepristone), antifungal (amphotericin B, ketoconazole), antibiotic (erythromycin), anti-asthma drug (theophylline), an ulcer healing drug (carbenoxolone) and anti-HIV drugs (ritonavir).

Drug-Food Interactions: HYDROCORTISONE may interact with St. John's wort (an antidepressant herbal supplement).

Drug-Disease Interaction: Avoid taking HYDROCORTISONE if you have candida, thrush, or other infection. If you have ever had severe depression or bipolar disorder, tuberculosis (TB), glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye), have recently had a heart attack or high blood pressure, fits, osteoporosis (thinning of bones), diabetes, thyroid problems, weakened immune system, stomach ulcers, liver, kidney or heart problems, infection, inform your doctor before taking HYDROCORTISONE.

It should be applied to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.

Don't use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.

Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.

If you think the area of skin you are treating has become infected you should stop using Entofoam NF Cream and consult your doctor.

Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.

Q. Can Entofoam NF Cream be used on the face?

No, Entofoam NF Cream should not be used on the face. In addition to this, Entofoam NF Cream should not be used on the axillae (armpits), groin and if there is atrophy (wasting away of tissues) at the treatment site. In certain circumstances, it can be exceptionally considered to be used by the doctors. It should be used only after consultation with your physician and if possible, the application on the face should be limited to a maximum of 5 days.

Q. Can we use Entofoam NF Cream in infections?

Entofoam NF Cream is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It is a steroid medication. It should not be used in infections as being a corticosteroid it suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infections. Bacterial infections are prone to worsen if the infection is covered with a dressing after using Entofoam NF Cream. In case the inflammatory lesions get infected or there is any spread of infection, consult your doctor immediately. The doctor will withdraw the use of Entofoam NF Cream and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.

Q. How to use Entofoam NF Cream?

Before using Entofoam NF Cream, clean and dry the affected area. Gently and thoroughly massage it into the skin. Be careful not to get the medication in your eyes or mouth. If Entofoam NF Cream gets in your eyes accidentally, wash with plenty of water and call your doctor if your eyes are irritated.

Q. Can I stop taking Entofoam NF Cream when my symptoms are relieved?

No, do not stop taking Entofoam NF Cream and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Stopping Entofoam NF Cream before your treatment is completed can bring back your symptoms of skin.
