Before taking FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have cholestasis, malnutrition syndrome, diabetes, or kidney disease. FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age), therefore consult your doctor before taking it.
The most common side effects of taking FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE are flatulence, with or without oily spotting, sudden bowel motions, fatty, oily, or soft stools, and stomach pain. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE works by attaching to the enzymes in your digestive system (lipases) and preventing them from breaking down some of the fat that you’ve consumed during your meal. The fat that is not digested cannot be absorbed and it is removed by your body.
Orlistat acts mainly via its local effect in the gut, and systemic exposure to the medication is minimal.

Stop taking FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Severe allergic reactions (severe breathing problems, sweating, rash, itching, swollen face, rapid heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, feeling unwell)
Hypersensitivity to orlistat or its constituents.
Chronic malabsorption[29][30]
Cholestasis.
Anorexia and bulimia.
Pregnancy.
Severe renal impairment.
Use with caution in patients with anorexia or bulimia nervosa.
FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Patients with obesity with a body mass index (BMI) of over 30 kg/m.
Patients with a BMI greater than 27 kg/m and the presence of risk factors including hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemias.
Reduction of the risk for weight regains after prior weight loss.
Drug-Drug Interaction: ORLISTAT may interact with immunosuppressant (ciclosporin), blood thinner (warfarin), antidiabetic drug (acarbose), thyroid medicine (levothyroxine), medicine for heart rhythm problems (amiodarone), anticonvulsants (lamotrigine), HIV/AIDS drug (atazanavir).
Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid high-fat meals that include butter, meat, dark chocolate, olive oil, nuts, and seeds (brazil nuts) with ORLISTAT as it may increase the risk of adverse effects on the stomach or intestines.
Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have cholestasis (bile flow from the liver is blocked), chronic malabsorption syndrome, anorexia or bulimia (eating disorder), thyroid disorder, diabetes, or kidney or liver problems, please consult a doctor before taking ORLISTAT.

Does FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE have side effects?
Yes, taking FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE may cause a few side effects in some individuals such as stomach pain, anxiety, tiredness, headache, flatulence with or without oily spotting, sudden bowel motions, inability to control bowel movements, rectal pain or discomfort and may also cause some other systemic effects such as respiratory tract infection, low blood sugar levels, tooth or gum disorders, urinary tract infection or irregular menses. Consult your doctor before using and report if any of the side effects worsen after taking FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE.
What happens if you take FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE without eating?
FATNIL 120MG CAPSULE works on the fats that are taken along with the food, hence it is advisable not to take the medicine if you miss a meal or if there is no fat in one of your meals.
