Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT may be given with or without food. However, if your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with food. The dose and duration of the medicine will depend on the type and severity of the infection. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is almost time for the next dose.
Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT may cause some minor and temporary side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain. Usually, these subside once your child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, if these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor immediately.
Inform the doctor about your child’s complete medical history, including any previous episode of allergy, heart problems, blood disorders, birth defects, lung anomaly, gastrointestinal problems, skin disorders, or liver and kidney malfunction. This information is critical for dose alterations and for planning your child’s overall treatment.
Cefadroxil is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as infections of the skin, throat, tonsils, and urinary tract. Cefadroxil is in a class of medications called cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria.
Pharmacokinetics. Cefadroxil is almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After doses of 500 mg and 1 g by mouth, peak plasma concentrations of about 16 and 30 micrograms/ml, respectively, are obtained after 1.5 to 2.0 hours.
Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Cefadroxil is contraindicated in patients with cephalosporin hypersensitivity or cephamycin hypersensitivity. Cefadroxil should be used cautiously in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin. The structural similarity between cefadroxil and penicillin means cross-reactivity can occur.

Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule strictly.

Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply, become resistant, or cause another infection.

Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases.
Only give Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Q. What if I overdose my child by mistake?
A single extra dose of Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT is unlikely to do any harm. However, if you think you have given too much of Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT to your child, immediately speak to a doctor. Overdose may cause unwanted side effects and may even worsen your child’s condition.

Yes, Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT may rarely cause some serious side effects. These include persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, severe diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT?
Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Fedrox 125mg Tablet DT?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
