Fenocard 20mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You can take it at any time of day with food but try to take it at the same time each day. This may lead to your cholesterol levels rising up again and increase your risk of heart disease and stroke. It is important to have your cholesterol levels checked regularly.
This medicine is only one part of a treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake and weight reduction. You can eat normally while taking this medicine, but try to avoid foods that are high in fat.
Common side effects of this medicine include nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. Before taking this medicine it is better to let your doctor know about all the other medicines that are prescribed to you. This medicine should be taken with caution if you are suffering from any kidney or liver disease. Also, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should not take this medicine without consulting the doctor.
Fenofibrate is used along with a proper diet to help lower "bad" cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise "good" cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It works by increasing the natural substance (enzyme) that breaks down fats in the blood.
After absorption, fenofibrate is mainly excreted in the urine in the form of metabolites, primarily fenofibric acid and fenofibric acid glucuronide. After administration of radiolabeled fenofibrate, approximately 60% of the dose appeared in the urine and 25% was excreted in the feces

Fenocard 20mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Fenofibrate capsules are indicated as adjunctive therapy to diet to reduce elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol (total-c), Triglycerides (TG) and apolopoprotein B (Apo B), and to increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in adult patients with primary hypercholesterolemia

If you miss a dose of Fenocard 20mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Fenocard 20mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disorders. Serum creatinine levels may increase with long-term usage of Fenocard 20mg Tablet but is completely reversible. The evidence of kidney damage with this medicine is rare still the kidney function blood test should be done regularly if there is a possibility of kidney damage.
