Fondaflo 2.5 Injection is an anticoagulant. It stops the action of a substance (clotting factor Xa) from working in the blood. This prevents the formation of unwanted blood clots (thrombosis) in the blood vessels.
Fondaparinux sodium administered by subcutaneous injection is rapidly and completely absorbed (absolute bioavailability is 100%). Following a single subcutaneous dose of fondaparinux sodium 2.5 mg in young male subjects, Cmax of 0.34 mg/L is reached in approximately 2 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Anemia (low number of red blood cells)
If you are suffering from any of the following diseases, you should not take Fondaparinux unless your doctor advises you to do so -
Bleeding
Endocarditis
Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)
Kidney Disease
Liver Disease
Fondaflo 2.5 Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Fondaflo 2.5 Injection.
Fondaflo 2.5 Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

FONDAPARINUX may have interaction with other blood thinners (apixaban, enoxaparin, warfarin, dicumarol, clopidogrel, prasugrel, rivaroxaban, dabigatran), pain killers (acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac).
Kindly do not self administer.

If you miss a dose of Fondaflo 2.5 Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Consult a doctor before taking any medicines.
Fondaflo 2.5 Injection prevents the formation of blood clots in the blood vessels of legs or lungs.
It may make you feel dizzy, tired or weak. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
It increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, or using sharp objects.
Notify your doctor if you see blood in your vomit, urine or stool (black, tarry stools or bright red blood).
Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor as this may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

Yes, Fondaflo 2.5 Injection increases the risk of bleeding, and the affects of Fondaflo 2.5 Injection may last for 4 days even after stopping this medicine. Always be careful while doing activities that may cause an injury or bleeding. Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any abnormal bruising or bleeding.
