Gatiblu D Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Do not use too much or too little. Use it in the exact dose as prescribed by the doctor or as instructed in the label.

Use of this medicine may cause burning sensation, stinging, and irritation at the application site. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it with water.

Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

Gatiblu D Eye Drop is a medicine used to treat bacterial eye infections. It prevents the growth of the bacteria that cause infection in the eyes. It also relieves the symptoms of inflammation such as redness, itchiness, and irritation.

Pharmacokinets

According to the manufacturer's labeling, the pharmacokinetics of oral dexamethasone is dose-proportional between the dose range of 0.5 to 40 mg. Absorption: Dexamethasone median time to peak concentrations (Tmax) is 1 hour (range: 0.5 to 4 hours).Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic agent and a member of the fourth-generation fluoroquinolone family. It works by inhibiting the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It was first introduced by Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1999 under the brand name Tequin® for the treatment of respiratory tract infections.

Indications

Dexamethasone+Gatifloxacin is used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections.Dexamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red swollen and itchy. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria in the eye by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. This treats your infection.

Interactions

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Gatiblu D Eye Drops may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Gatiblu D Eye Drops may interact with the following drugs and products:

Aspirin

Cyclosporine

Diabetes medications

Typical Dosage

Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Gatiblu D Eye Drop, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Expert Advice

Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.

If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before putting in these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in.

Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.

Gatiblu D Eye Drop might cause blurring of vision. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.

It is advisable to reduce screen time (by avoiding watching tv, or phone) and use sunglasses while going out into the sunlight.
