Gerbisa Children Suppository is a laxative which dissolves in the rectum (large intestine) from where it is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream. It works by increasing the movement of the intestine, thereby facilitating the passage of stool. This provides fast relief from constipation. It also helps clean out the intestines prior to medical procedures or examination.
Bisacodyl is administered either orally or rectally. Bisacodyl distributes locally, and the circulating drug undergoes hepatic metabolism and is then excreted in the urine. Bisacodyl is minimally absorbed (15%), and the onset of action of the drug begins 6—8 hours after an oral dose.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
