GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS is not recommended for use in patients allergic to levofloxacin and/or other quinolone antibiotics.
Before using GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS, inform your doctor if you use contact lenses.
GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary. The medicine is recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged 1 to 18 years) which should be used with caution in elderly patients after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects after using GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS are burning sensation in eyes, decreased/blurred vision and/or mucus in the eye. Consult and inform your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (enzyme responsible for DNA synthesis) in bacteria which results in destruction of bacterial cell structure thus preventing the occurrence of otic/ocular infections (caused by susceptible bacteria) in affected individuals.
The pharmacokinetics of levofloxacin are similar during multiple-dose regimens to those following single doses. Levofloxacin is widely distributed throughout the body, with a mean volume of distribution of 1.1 L/kg, and penetrates well into most body tissues and fluids.

If you are allergic to levofloxacin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
If you are allergic to a class of medicines called fluoroquinolones. If you are not sure which are these medicines ask your doctor.
If you have a history of fits and seizures (epilepsy).
If you have tendons (tendonitis) related problems.
If you are below 18 years old.
If you are pregnant/breastfeeding or are planning to become pregnant.

Levofloxacin is FDA-approved for the treatment of nosocomial pneumonia, community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial rhinosinusitis, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial prostatitis, acute pyelonephritis, urinary tract infection, skin or skin structure infections, prophylaxis, and .
Drug-Drug Interaction: Following drugs should not be taken alongside LEVOFLOXACIN: Pain-relieving (NSAIDs), Acidity relievers (cimetidine), Anti-tuberculosis drugs (probenecid), Immunosuppressants (cyclosporin), Anti-bacterial drugs (macrolides), Blood sugar lowering drugs (insulin, glibenclamide) & Blood thinners (warfarin), fits medications (Phenytoin, valproate).
Drug-Food Interaction: LEVOFLOXACIN should be avoided with milk and yoghurt.
Drug-Disease Interaction: LEVOFLOXACIN should be taken only after doctors consultation in conditions like Swollen intestines (colitis), Weak muscles (myasthenia gravis), Swollen tendons (tendonitis), High blood sugar (diabetes), hemodialysis (kidney dialysis), Kidney dysfunction as well as disease of nerves.

If you or anyone else accidentally instils too much of GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS or swallows it (accidentally) then consult and inform your doctor or visit the nearby hospital to manage the overdose effects.
Ear Drops:
Use GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS as directed by your doctor. It is for external use only. Wash your hands and tighten the cap of the nozzle which will pierce the tip of the vial. Tilt your head/lie down with the affected ear facing upwards. Gently pull the top of the ear upward and backward and instil the required quantity of drops in the affected ear. Avoid touching the ear with the tip of the dropper. Place your head tilted up for three to five minutes. Replace and tighten the cap after use. Your doctor will decide exact dose and duration according to your disease condition, weight and age.
Eye Drops:
Instil GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS as directed by your doctor. It is for external use only. Wash your hands and open the bottle. Tilt your head backwards and hold the bottle upside down over the eye. Avoid dropper tip touching the eye. Pull your lower eyelid downwards and gently squeeze the bottle to let one drop fall into the space between the lower eye lid and eye. Close your eye and gently press the inner corner of the eye. Wipe off any excess solution from the skin around the eye and replace the cap. Your doctor will decide exact dose and duration according to your disease condition, weight and age.

GLEVO EYE/EAR DROPS is used in adults and children (aged above 1 year) to treat bacterial infections (such as bacterial conjunctivitis) that affects the front surface of the eye. It is also used to treat corneal ulcer (open sore/inflammation of cornea) caused by susceptible strains of bacteria in affected individuals.
