Gluconorm-VG 2 Tablet SR is a medicine that helps to control high blood glucose (sugar) levels. It helps to slow down the breaking down of food in our intestine to simple glucose (sugar), thereby decreasing the rise in blood glucose levels after meals. It also helps get rid of extra glucose from your body through urine. Lowering blood glucose levels is an essential part of managing diabetes. If you can control the level, you will reduce the risk of getting any of the serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems and loss of limbs.
Glimepiride is reported to undergo hepatic metabolism. Following either an intravenous or oral dose, glimepiride undergoes oxidative biotransformation mediated by CYP2C9 enzyme to form a major metabolite, cyclohexyl hydroxymethyl derivative (M1), that is pharmacologically active.The drug is widely distributed into body tissues including the intestine, liver, and kidney by organic cation transporters [6]. There is a large interindividual variability in metformin pharmacokinetics as measured by differences in trough steady-state metformin plasma concentration ranging from 54 to 4133 ng/ml.voglibose is poorly absorbed after oral administration. However, systematic adverse effects have been observed. Metabolism: the metabolism of voglibose in liver is negligible. Excretion: The renal excretion is negligible and plasma concentations after oral dose have been undetectable.

GLIMEPIRIDE+METFORMIN+VOGLIBOSE may interact with insulin, high blood pressure-lowering pills (hydrochlorothiazide, amlodipine), water pills/diuretics (furosemide), heart failure-related medicines (digoxin), anti-hypertensive (metoprolol), steroids (prednisolone), thyroid hormones etc. So, tell your doctor if you are using these drugs before taking GLIMEPIRIDE+METFORMIN+VOGLIBOSE.

If you miss a dose of Gluconorm-VG 2 Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
