Grafyrec 1200IU Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor will decide the right time to take the injection, so always follow your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
The most common side effects of this medicine include allergic reactions, headache, swelling of the breast in males, and acne. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had heart disease, or had an ovarian cyst, or had thyroid gland disorder. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. You should avoid alcohol or have to follow doctor advice related to diet while taking this medicine.
In women, it acts by developing and ripening several follicles (containing an egg) and inducing the ovulation procedure (releasing an egg from the ovary). In men, it acts by increasing the testosterone level in men.
FSH regulates folliculogenesis, oocyte selection, and the synthesis of sex steroid hormones, thus preparing the reproductive tract for fertilization, implantation, and pregnancy.In the male, this gonadotropin mediates testicular development and spermatogenesis

Gonal-f is a recombinant form of human FSH (r-hFSH), an endogenous gonadotropin which is being produced in genetically engineered chinese hamster ovary cells and is indicated for induction of ovulation and pregnancy in anovulatory infertile women in whom the cause of infertility is functional and not due to primary ovarian failure.
Grafyrec Injection may interact with other medicines and discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbal preparations you are taking. Also, inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.
Especially if you are taking any other medicines used in the treatment of female infertility such as clomiphene citrate, as it may increase the effect on ovaries.
Other medicines which reduce your sex hormone levels and stop you from ovulating. In such condition you need higher dose of Grafyrec Injection.

The injection is administered under the skin. Follow the recommended dosage and monitoring schedules to minimise the possibility of ovarian hyperstimulation.
Inform your doctor immediately if you have severe pelvic pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sudden weight gain, trouble breathing, or decreased or no urination during treatment, as these could be symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
Do not use Grafyrec 1200IU Injection if you are already pregnant or breastfeeding.
Grafyrec 1200IU Injection stimulates the production of eggs in women undergoing treatment for infertility.
Your doctor may prescribe more than one medicine as part of your suggested pregnancy plan.
Pregnancy following treatment with Grafyrec 1200IU Injection is more likely to result in a multiple pregnancy (twins or more).

Grafyrec 1200IU Injection contains Follitropin alfa which is a type of Follicle Stimulating Hormone produced naturally by the body. It is used in women who are unable to ovulate. It works by stimulating the growth of follicles (which contain eggs) in the ovary. This helps in the release of a properly developed egg at the time of ovulation. It is also used in assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as in-vitro fertilization (IVF), which help women to become pregnant. It may also be used in adult men who are infertile due to lack of certain hormones and inability to produce enough sperm cells.

Grafyrec 1200IU Injection is an injection given subcutaneously (just under the skin). The dose and treatment duration depend on the ovarian response of the patient.

Ideally, you should try not to miss a dose of Grafyrec 1200IU Injection. However, please talk to your doctor as soon as you remember that you have missed a dose.
