It is administered by a doctor and requires continuous blood pressure monitoring.Common side effects of this medicine include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, paresthesia, nasal congestions, ejaculation disorders, impotence, and edema. Let your doctor know if they persist or get worse. They may be able to suggest ways to prevent or reduce the side effects.
Gravidol 20mg Injection is an alpha and beta blocker. It works by slowing down the heart rate and relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
Labetalol is readily absorbed in man after oral administration, but the drug, which is lipid soluble, undergoes considerable hepatic first-pass metabolism and has an absolute bioavailability of approximately 25%. There are no active metabolites, and the elimination half-life of the drug is approximately 6 hours.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Gravidol 20mg Injection.
Gravidol 20mg Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Gravidol 20mg Injection is a medicine used in the urgent treatment of hypertensive emergency (severely increased blood pressure). It also helps to treat severe hypertension in pregnancy, when rapid control of blood pressure is essential.
Medicine used for the treatment of brain related disorders such as Amitriptyline and other similar medicines can lead to significant drop in blood pressure and can also cause tremors.
Other blood pressure lowering medicines if taken along with Gravidol Injection can lead to sinificant drop in blood pressure.
Concurrent use of medicines used to treat an abnormal heart rhythm verapamil, diltiazem, digoxin, quinidine, amiodarone, disopyramide should be avoided.
Clonidine a medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) should not be taken along with Gravidol Injection and if starting Labetalol treatment, your clonidine should be stopped slowly.
Adrenaline injections should not be taken while taking this medicine.

It is less likely that a dose of this injection will be missed as it is used for emergency condition and you will be monitored under healthcare set up. If feel like any dose of this medicine has been missed tell your doctor/nurse.

It is given as an injection into veins or as drip under the supervision of a medical professional.
Check your blood pressure 1 week after starting Gravidol 20mg Injection, and inform your doctor if it has not improved.
Gravidol 20mg Injection may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
It may cause you to feel lightheaded or weak especially when you stand up (orthostatic hypotension). Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while taking Gravidol 20mg Injection as it may make the side effects worse.
Do not stop taking Gravidol 20mg Injection suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise suddenly, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Yes, itchy skin, a rash or tingly scalp are common side effects of Gravidol 20mg Injection. Speak to your doctor if the itchiness or rash gets worse or lasts for more than a week.
Q. Is it safe to use Gravidol 20mg Injection in patients with diabetes?
Diabetic patients while using Gravidol 20mg Injection should regularly check the blood sugar levels. Gravidol 20mg Injection may make it difficult to recognize the warning signs of low blood sugar such as shaking and a racing heartbeat. Consult your doctor if the blood sugar levels are reduced while taking Gravidol 20mg Injection.
