Ibitan 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but, it is better to take it in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. In case, you have missed any dose than it is better to take another one as soon as you remember it.

Ibitan 5mg Tablet is an endothelin receptor blocker. It blocks the action of endothelin (a natural substance) that causes blood vessels to narrow (constrict). This narrowing increases the pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs. Ibitan 5mg Tablet helps relax these blood vessels and increases the supply of blood to the lungs.


Pharmacokinets

Ambrisentan has a terminal half-life of 15 hours. It is thought that steady state is achieved after around 4 days of repeat-dosing. The mean oral clearance of ambrisentan was found to be 38 mL/min in healthy subjects and 19 mL/min in patients with pulmonary artery hypertension.

Indications

Ambrisentan is indicated for treatment of idiopathic ('primary') pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) associated with connective tissue disease in patients with WHO functional class II or III symptoms.


Interactions

The therapeutic efficacy of Ambrisentan can be decreased when used in combination with Antrafenine. The serum concentration of Ambrisentan can be decreased when it is combined with Apalutamide. The serum concentration of Apixaban can be increased when it is combined with Ambrisentan.
