Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Migraine headaches are thought to result from the dilatation (swelling) of blood vessels in the head. Imijet 500mg Injection works by constricting (narrowing) the blood vessels in the head, stops transmission of pain signals to the brain, and blocks the release of chemicals that cause nausea and other migraine symptoms. This relieves the migraine attack.

Pharmacokinets

Sumatriptan has a volume of distribution of 50±8L for a 6mg subcutaneous dose 7, or 2.7L/kg. Sumatriptan is 14%-21% bound to protein in circulation.
