Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) is for external use only. You should always use it exactly as your doctor has told you. The affected area should be clean and dry before application. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need as it will not clear your condition faster and some side effects may be increased. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. You can help this medication work better by keeping the affected areas clean, making sure they are dry, and washing your hands before and after treating the infection.
Common side effects of this medicine include application site reactions (such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness), dry skin, edema, and induration. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Avoid direct contact with your eyes. In case of accidental contact, wash your eyes with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
Before using this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding. You should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.
Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) works in genital warts by triggering the immune system to produce natural substances which help fight against the virus, that causes warts. Researchers don't know how exactly it works in actinic keratosis or basal cell cancer.
Imiquimod is a Toll-like receptor 7 agonist that activates immune cells. Topical application to skin is associated with increases in markers for cytokines and immune cells.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Imiquimod cream therapy should not be initiated in tissues where open sores or wounds exist until after the area has healed. Local skin reactions such as erythema, erosion, excoriation, flaking and oedema are common. Other local reactions such as induration, ulceration, scabbing, and vesicles have also been reported.
Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Imiquimod cream is indicated for the topical treatment of: • External genital and perianal warts (condylomata acuminata) in adults. Small superficial basal cell carcinomas (sBCCs) in adults.

Drug-Disease Interactions: IMIQUIMOD should not be used in patients with cervical, urethral, intra-vaginal, rectal or intra-anal viral disease.

If you miss a dose of Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each), apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) is used for the treatment of genital warts, rough scaly skin as well as a certain type of skin cancer.
Inform your doctor if you are taking medication for any other skin conditions
Apply Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) to the affected area as prescribed and do not cover the treated area with bandages or dressings.
Do not let Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) come in contact with your mouth or eyes. If it comes rinse with plain water immediately.
Be very careful while applying Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) to the genital area.
Do not apply Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) on inflamed skin and open wounds.
Try to avoid sexual contact while you are treating genital warts. You should ideally wait until your warts have gone and your skin has healed.
If you are using Imiquad Cream (0.25gm Each) for skin cancer, avoid being out in the sun between 11 am and 3 pm. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with your doctor's consultation.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
