Involym 408mg Capsule (15'S)

Involym Capsule is also used to treat many sexually transmitted diseases. It should be taken preferably either one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for, but you should always complete a full course of this antibiotic as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it until you have finished, even when you feel better. If you stop taking it early, some bacteria may survive and the infection may come back.

Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, and skin reaction on exposure to sunlight (photosensitivity). Avoid excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if you find these side effects bother or worry you.

Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy to any antibiotic or liver or kidney problems before taking this medicine. You should also let your doctor know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect, or be affected by this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using it. It may blur your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Involym Capsule is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Pharmacokinets

Lymecycline is 77-88% absorbed after oral administration with a relative bioavailability of 70%. The Cmax of lymecycline is 2.1 mg/L and is achieved about 3 hours after administration. The AUC is 21.9 ± 4.3 mg·h/L.

Side Effects

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Contra Indications

The manufacturer suggest lymecycline is contraindicated in breastfeeding. Tetracyclines are excreted in breast milk, however absorption and discolouration of teeth in the infant is probably prevented by chelation with calcium in the milk.

Pregnancy Related Information

Involym Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Product And Alcohol Interaction

Consuming alcohol with Involym Capsule does not cause any harmful side effects.

Breast Feeding Related Information

Information regarding the use of Involym Capsule during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor.

Indications

Lymecycline, like other tetracyclines, is used to treat a range of infections. Its better absorption profile makes it preferable to tetracycline for moderately severe acne and typically prescribed for 8 weeks at a time, but alternatives should be sought if no improvement occurs by 3 months.

Drug-Drug Interactions: LYMECYCLINE may interact with medicines for ulcer healing, quinapril (for high blood pressure), supplements containing calcium, aluminium, magnesium, zinc or iron; oral retinoids (to treat acne), anticoagulants (to stop the blood clotting), medicines for epilepsy (phenobarbitone, phenytoin and carbamazepine) and methoxyflurane (an anaesthetic medication).
