Ivmmune Infusion has been shown to be effective in preventing infections in bone marrow transplant patients more than 20 years of age in the first 100 days post-transplant. It is used in the treatment of patients where antibody-forming capacity is severely impaired thereby subjecting them to a greater risk of infections. Ivmmune Infusion gives you antibodies that your body is not making on its own so you can fight infections. Both children and adults can have this therapy. It is administered as an injection. Your doctor will monitor you for some time after the administration of Ivmmune Infusion to check for any side effects.
Ivmmune Infusion may sometimes cause side effects like jnjection site reactions such as swelling, redness, pain, induration, itching, bruising, and rash and flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck, and trunk), . If you get any of these, or other side effects, or just feel unwell, you should tell your doctor. There may be ways of preventing or reducing these effects.
Before using it, you should tell your doctor if you have any problems with blood clotting and if you have recently had, or plan to have, a vaccination. It is not known whether this medicine is completely safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding so please take advice from your doctor.

Contraindicated in persons with isolated immunoglobulin A (IgA) deficiency. Such persons have the potential for developing antibodies to IgA and could have anaphylactic reactions to subsequent administration of blood products that contain IgA.
Ivmmune Infusion may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Ivmmune Infusion. Please consult your doctor.
Ivmmune Infusion should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

Q. If I feel fine, does it mean that I can discontinue my treatment with Ivmmune Infusion?
No, this only means that you are responding well to the treatment. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting the doctor. If you stop the medication before completing the treatment then you would be putting yourself at risk as your body would no longer be able to fight infections. However, in case of doubt, you should always talk to your doctor.
Q. How long will it take for Ivmmune Infusion to start working?
Your symptoms may take 3-4 weeks to improve. This duration can vary depending on the disease you have and the way you respond to the treatment. If you are not sure, consult your doctor.
Q. Can Ivmmune Infusion cause kidney damage?
Yes, Ivmmune Infusion can cause kidney damage but not in everyone. Patients having a pre-existing kidney problem, diabetes and hypovolemia (a decrease in the volume of circulating blood) are at risk of developing kidney failure. Additionally, patients who are overweight, over 65 years of age and who are using medicines that can cause kidney damage are also at risk of developing kidney failure. Also, Ivmmune Infusion which has sucrose, fructose or maltose as an ingredient in it is more likely to cause kidney damage.
