Jalra-M 50mg/850mg Tablet can be prescribed alone or together with other diabetes medications. All diabetes medicines work best when used along with a healthy diet and regular exercise. The dose you are given will depend on your condition, blood sugar levels, and what other medicines you are taking. Taking it with meals helps to reduce the chances of developing an upset stomach.
Jalra M Tablet works by the combined action of both the components - metformin and vildagliptin. It decreases the amount of glucose absorbed from the intestine, lowering the amount of sugar created by the liver and facilitating the entry of sugar into the cells.
Metformin is rapidly distributed following absorption and does not bind to plasma proteins. No metabolites or conjugates of metformin have been identified. The absence of liver metabolism clearly differentiates the pharmacokinetics of metformin from that of other biguanides, such as phenformin.
Vildagliptin was rapidly absorbed, exhibiting a median tmax of 1.5 to 2 hours at all doses. Across the dose range of 25 to 200 mg, mean elimination half-life (t1/2) showed a trend toward increased values with increasing dose (1.6-2.5 hours).

If you miss a dose of Jalra-M 50mg/850mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Your doctor may check your kidney and liver function before starting treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, darkened urine or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Jalra-M 50mg/850mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

The use of Jalra-M 50mg/850mg Tablet does not usually cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) alone. But it could occur if there is insufficient supplementation of calories while taking this medicine. Symptoms of hypoglycemia include nausea, headache, irritability, hunger, sweating, dizziness, fast heart rate, and feeling anxious or shaky. The symptoms are more likely to be noticed if you miss or delay your food, drink alcohol, over-exercise, or take any other antidiabetic medicine along with it. So, regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is important. It is recommended to always carry glucose tablets, honey, or fruit juice with you.

Yes, the use of Jalra-M 50mg/850mg Tablet can cause nausea and vomiting. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark-colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to a doctor.

The use of Jalra-M 50mg/850mg Tablet should be avoided in patients with known allergies to any of the components or excipients of this medicine. The use of this medicine is also considered to be harmful to patients with severe kidney impairment, liver impairment, congestive heart failure, lactic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis.
