Lenalid is used to treat white blood cell cancer and in patients with transfusion dependent aneamia. It contains Lenalidomide as active ingredient. This medicine modulates and strengthens the immune system. It kills and inhibits the growth of cancer cells thereby prevents the spread of cancer. Take Lenalid as advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Lenalid Capsule should be avoided if you are pregnany or planning pregnancy.

Mechanism Of Action

Linalidomide acts by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of cancer cells and stops cancer cells from making their own blood vessels. Thus, kills the cancer cells.

It works by killing the abnormal cells in the bone marrow and helps to produce healthy normal blood cells.

Pharmacokinets

Approximately 82 % of an oral dose is excreted as lenalidomide in urine within 24 h. Lenalidomide has a short half-life (3–4 h) and does not accumulate in plasma upon repeated dosing. Its pharmacokinetics are consistent across patient populations, regardless of the type of hematologic malignancy.

Indications

Lenalidomide is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with multiple myeloma (MM) in combination with dexamethasone. It is also indicated as maintenance therapy in multiple myeloma following autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT).

Effects Of Missed Dosage

Missing a dose of Lenalid Capsule may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

Effects Of Overdose

Overdose of Lenalid may cause drowsiness, irritability, sickness, headache. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
