It is also used to treat uncomplicated skin and structure infections (rashes, swelling, redness, pain, pus and itching), acute maxillary sinusitis (inflammation around the nasal cavity leading to headache and runny nose) and cystitis (strong, persistent urge to urinate with burning sensation and blood in the urine).
LINPOD SUSPENSION should be avoided if you are allergic to cefpodoxime or to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics (such as cefuroxime, cefixime) or if you had experienced immediate or severe hypersensitivity reaction (anaphylaxis) to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics (such as aztreonam).
Before taking LINPOD SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you have or ever had colitis, liver problems and impaired kidney function. Your doctor may monitor your blood count and liver enzymes level in blood tests while taking LINPOD SUSPENSION.
LINPOD SUSPENSION is generally not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women unless clearly advised by the doctor. LINPOD SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in infants less than 2 months of age and it should be used with caution in elderly patients, especially in patients with impaired kidney function.
The most common side effects of taking LINPOD SUSPENSION are diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain and headache. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
