Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This medicine is considered safe for long-term use.

Making some changes in your lifestyle will also help lower your blood pressure. These may include regular exercise, losing weight, smoking cessation, reducing alcohol intake, and reducing the amount of salt in your diet as advised by your doctor. The most common side effects of this medicine include decreased blood pressure, cough, increased potassium level, fatigue, weakness, and dizziness. Most of these are temporary and resolve with time. Talk to your doctor if any of the side effects bother you or do not go away.

Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any kidney or liver problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your doctor may check your kidney function, blood pressure, and potassium levels in your blood at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.

Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Lisinopril inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in human subjects and animals. ACE is a peptidyl dipeptidase that catalyzes the conversion of angiotensin I to the vasoconstrictor substance, angiotensin II. Angiotensin II also stimulates aldosterone secretion by the adrenal cortex.

Pharmacokinets

Lisinopril is not metabolized and is excreted as the unchanged drug. Lisinopril is entirely eliminated exclusively in the urine. Lisinopril has an effective half life of accumulation of 12.6h 2,8,9,10 and a terminal half life of 46.7h. A 30kg child has a typical clearance of 10L/h, which increases with renal function.

FAQs

Q. What is Linvas 10mg Tablet? What is it used for?

Linvas 10mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It relaxes and widens the blood vessels, making it easier for the blood to pass through the vessels. As a result of this, the heart does not have to work more to push the blood. Since the workload on the heart is reduced, it helps to lower the blood pressure and thus reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Q. What should I tell my doctor before taking Linvas 10mg Tablet?

Before taking Linvas 10mg Tablet you must tell your doctor if you are allergic to Linvas 10mg Tablet or any of its ingredients. You must tell the doctor if you have any problems related to heart, liver, kidneys (if you are on dialysis) or blood, such as a low white blood cell count (neutropenia or agranulocytosis). Q. What time of the day should I take Linvas 10mg Tablet?

Linvas 10mg Tablet should be taken at the same time each day to reduce the chances of a missed dose. Take it in the dose and duration prescribed by the doctor. Your doctor may advise you to take your first dose before bedtime, because it can make you dizzy. After the first dose, if you do not feel dizzy, you may take Linvas 10mg Tablet at any time of the day. Your dose will depend on the condition you are being treated for and therefore, it will vary from person to person. If you experience any side effects while taking Linvas 10mg Tablet, please consult your doctor.

Q. I feel better after taking Linvas 10mg Tablet, can I stop taking it?
