Listril 5 Tablet can be prescribed either alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food but try taking it at about the same time each day. It is important to continue taking it regularly even if you feel well or even if your blood pressure is controlled. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This medicine is considered safe for long-term use.

The most common side effects of this medicine include decreased blood pressure, cough, increased potassium level, fatigue, weakness, and dizziness. Most of these are temporary and resolve with time. Listril 5 Tablet is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by reducing stress on the heart and relaxing blood vessel so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
The drug is not metabolized but is eliminated via the kidneys. Lisinopril probably undergoes glomerular filtration, tubular secretion, and tubular reabsorption. There is no pharmacokinetic interaction between lisinopril and furosemide.

Do not chew, crush or break it. Listril 5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

If you miss a dose of Listril 5 Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
