Litca is a prescription medication. It contains Lithium Carbonate as its active ingredient. It is used to manage bipolar disorder, mania, and depression associated with mania. Bipolar disorder is a mental health disorder that causes extreme mood swings, including extreme emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). These disorders may lead to a decrease in quality of life. Lithium helps by stabilizing the levels of the chemicals involved in the causation of this disorder. Before starting this medication, a few blood tests will be done. This is to establish if you are fit to be started on this medication. It is important to only take this medication on prescription by a doctor, at the exact dose and for the entire duration prescribed. You will be required to have regular follow-ups and blood work done with your doctor while on this medication, starting from 5 days after you begin this medication. This medicine can have dangerous side effects if not monitored closely.
