Lobate GN Skin Cream is a combination of two medicines: Clobetasol and Neomycin, which treats bacterial skin infections Clobetasol is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Neomycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
Clobetasol is under investigation for the treatment of Scleroderma. Clobetasol has been investigated for the prevention of Psoriasis and Cutaneous Atrophy Due to Corticosteroids. Clobetasol is a Corticosteroid. The mechanism of action of clobetasol is as a Corticosteroid Hormone Receptor Agonist.There is limited information on the metabolism of neomycin, as there is limited systemic absorption following drug administration. Metabolism is deemed to be negligible. The small absorbed fraction of neomycin is excreted by the kidney. The unabsorbed portion of the drug is excreted unchanged in the feces.
