Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Longifene Tablet is an antihistamine. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine). This helps treat various allergic conditions such as conjunctivitis and urticaria. This also stops the vomiting centre in the brain from receiving nerve messages that would otherwise cause motion sickness (nausea & light-headedness).

Pharmacokinets

Although the mechanism by which buclizine exerts its antiemetic and antivertigo effects has not been fully elucidated, its central anticholinergic properties are partially responsible. The drug depresses labyrinth excitability and vestibular stimulation, and it may affect the medullary chemoreceptor trigger zone.
