Lpill M Tablet is given alone or in combination with some other medicine to attain the maximum benefit. It should be taken with food or as your doctor's advice. It should be taken orally, by swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. If you experience vomiting within 45 minutes of tablet intake, inform your doctor or take another tablet. The medicine may take 24- 48 hours to show its action and you experience bleeding.
The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, uterine cramps, diarrhea, infection following abortion, and uterine bleeding. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. If you experience heavy vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain on taking this medicine, you should inform your doctor immediately.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had an ectopic pregnancy, or you are breastfeeding or using an intrauterine device. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You must avoid strenuous activity like heavy exercise, running, and driving while abortion as it can affect the bleeding. Your doctor may perform an ultrasound or pelvic examination to check for abortion completion.
Lpill M Tablet blocks the effects of progesterone, a natural female hormone which is needed for the pregnancy to sustain. Without this hormone, the lining of the uterus (womb) breaks down as it does during a menstrual period and stops the growth of the pregnancy.
The serum transport protein alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (AAG) regulates the serum kinetics of mifepristone. Binding to AAG limits the tissue availability of mifepristone, explaining the low metabolic clearance rate of 0.55 L/kg/day and the low volume of distribution of mifepristone.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Mifepristone is contraindicated in patients with: an ectopic pregnancy, hypersensitivity to prostaglandins, undiagnosed renal masses, concurrent IUD use, hemorrhagic disorders, and severe anemia.
Lpill M Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lpill M Tablet.
Lpill M Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Mifepristone is a synthetic steroid. It is a medication most commonly used for medically induced abortions. Mifepristone can also be used in the management and treatment of Cushing's syndrome and uterine leiomyomas. At low doses, mifepristone blocks progesterone by competitively binding its intracellular receptor.
Drug-Drug Interactions: MIFEPRISTONE interacts with corticosteroids (dexamethasone), antifungal (ketoconazole, itraconazole), antibiotics (erythromycin, rifampicin), anti-epileptic (phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus), medicines to treat migraine (ergotamine). So, MIFEPRISTONE should not be taken along with these drugs.
Drug-Food Interactions: Please tell your doctor about all the Vitamins, herbs, and supplements you are taking as the MIFEPRISTONE may interact with them to produce unpleasant side effects. Also, MIFEPRISTONE is known to interact with St John’s Wort (a natural remedy used to treat mild depression) and grapefruit juice.
Drug-Disease Interactions: MIFEPRISTONE should be taken with caution in people with a bleeding problem, confirmed or suspected ectopic pregnancy, heart problem, liver or kidney disease, or vaginal bleeding.

Lpill M Tablet contains a medicine called Mifepristone. It helps in medical termination of the pregnancy. You may or may not experience vaginal bleeding or spotting after taking this medicine. After 48 hours of taking Lpill M Tablet, your doctor shall examine you and may prescribe you another medicine (Misoprostol) for complete termination of pregnancy. After 14 days of taking Lpill M Tablet, your gynaecologist may run some blood tests or perform ultrasonography to confirm whether the pregnancy has been terminated or not.

No, studies have shown that this medicine does not impair the fertility of the women. Your future chances of getting pregnant are as equal as of those who have not taken this medicine.
