Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

LUCRIN DEPOT 3.75MG INJECTION contains Leuprolide which helps in managing endometriosis and fibroids. It works by blocking the secretion of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) following an initial stimulation, resulting in suppression of ovarian and testicular steroidogenesis (process of synthesis of steroid hormones), thereby relieving the symptoms associated with increased levels of sex hormones.

Pharmacokinets

Leuprolide has a terminal elimination half-life of approximately three hours. Leuprolide administered as a 1 mg intravenous bolus in healthy males has a mean systemic clearance between 7.6 and 8.3 L/h. Leuprolide is considered extremely safe, with low dose-related toxicity and comparatively mild adverse effects.
