Lupihist Plus Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
The most common side effects are stomach pain, coordination impaired, and thickened respiratory tract secretions. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.
Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.
It acts on a certain part of the cough centre or brain and reduces the cough. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant. It works by reducing the swelling of blood vessels of nasal passage by constricting the blood vessels and thereby relieves nasal congestion or blockage.
Citric acid is thought to react with copper first by adsorption of the citrate ions onto the copper surface, followed by reaction and then desorption of the newly formed complex. Some researchers have noted that citric acid can produce an inhibitive effect, similar to that of BTA, under some circumstances.Oral bioavailability of diphenhydramine is in the range of 40% to 60%, and peak plasma concentration occurs about 2 to 3 hours after administration. The primary route of metabolism is two successive demethylations of the tertiary amine.

Hypersensitivity to Lupihist Plus Syrup is a contraindication. In addition, Lupihist Plus Syrup should not be used if you have the following conditions:
Acute dehydration
Concomitant use with other products containing diphenhydramine
Heat cramps
Hyperkalemia
Impaired renal function
Severe myocardial damage
Sodium-restricted diets
Untreated addison's disease

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Lupihist Plus Syrup may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Lupihist Plus Syrup may interact with the following drugs and products:
Alcohol
Aluminium hydroxide
Other products containing diphenhydramine
Oxide
Sedatives
Tranquilizers
Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Lupihist Plus Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Store below 30°C
If you miss a dose of Lupihist Plus Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Lupihist Plus Syrup is prescribed to get relief from cough.
Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Use a proper measuring cup or spoon to measure the dosage.
In general, most coughs do not last more than 2 weeks. If your cough does last longer than this then it's better to see your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma.
Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants.
