Macprox 600gm Tablet should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset and reduce side effects. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms, for the shortest possible time. You should take this medicine regularly while you need it. Try not to miss doses as it will become less effective if you do.
The common side effects of this medicine include vomiting, stomach pain, nausea, and indigestion. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the symptoms.
This medicine is generally considered safe but is not suitable for everybody. Before you take it, you should tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, asthma, blood disorders, or drink a lot of alcohol. Also, tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking to make sure you are safe. It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while using this medicine.
Macprox 600gm Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever, pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
Approximately 95% of oxaprozin is metabolized by the liver. Approximately 5% of the oxaprozin dose is excreted unchanged in the urine.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Macprox 600gm Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Macprox 600gm Tablet.
Macprox 600gm Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Oxaprozin is used to relieve pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis (arthritis caused by a breakdown of the lining of the joints) and rheumatoid arthritis (arthritis caused by swelling of the lining of the joints).
Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform the doctor if you are taking painkiller (aspirin), anti-rheumatic (methotrexate), ACE inhibitors, diuretics, antimanic agent (lithium), blood thinner (warfarin), anti-diabetic (glyburide).
Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have active peptic ulcer disease, gastrointestinal bleeding problems, severe hepatic impairment, or heart problems.

Do not chew, crush or break it. Macprox 600gm Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

If you miss a dose of Macprox 600gm Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Avoid Macprox 600gm Tablet with herbs/food with anti-platelet activity such as alfalfa, anise, bilberry, grape seed, green tea, turmeric, fenugreek, garlic, ginger.
