Maxvoid Plus 8 Tablet is advised to take it in a dose and duration as per prescription. It should be taken with food, but take at the same time regularly. Swallow the medicine as a whole without crushing or chewing it. You should not stop taking the medicine without consulting the doctor as it may lead to the worsening of your symptoms. The course of the treatment should be completed for better efficacy of the medicine.

Some common side effects of this medicine are retrograde ejaculation, dizziness, diarrhea, orthostatic hypotension, headache, nasopharyngitis, and nasal congestion. If any of the side effects persist or bother you, you must consult the doctor without delay.

Maxvoid Plus 8 Tablet is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily.


Maxvoid Plus 8 Tablet is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It blocks an enzyme which is necessary to change testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow. As a result, it helps to shrink the prostate and relieve the symptoms like difficulty in passing urine.

Pharmacokinets

Silodosin also targets afferent nerves in the bladder, relieving bladder overactivity and storage symptoms. The absolute bioavailability is approximately 32%. Following oral administration of silodosin 8 mg once daily in healthy male subjects, Cmax was 61.6 ± 27.54 ng/mL and AUC was 373.4 ± 164.94 ng x hr/mL.

Indications

SILODOSIN+DUTASTERIDE may cause a sudden drop in your blood pressure which could lead to dizziness or fainting. Therefore, if SILODOSIN+DUTASTERIDE is taken along with blood pressure lowering medicines, it could lead to a severe decrease in blood pressure which could be lethal.

Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: SILODOSIN+DUTASTERIDE interacts with medicines used to treat high blood pressure (prazosin, terazosin), drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (sildenafil, tadalafil), azole antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole), HIV protease inhibitor (lopinavir, ritonavir).

Drug-Food Interaction: SILODOSIN+DUTASTERIDE may interact with grapefruit juice, alcohol, and tobacco. This may cause more side effects than it normally does. So, a SILODOSIN+DUTASTERIDE should not be taken along with them.

Effects Of Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Maxvoid Plus 8 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Expert Advice

Silodosin

Silodosin helps in relieving the symptoms of enlarged prostate. It does not decrease the size of the prostate.

Silodosin must be taken with food.

You will feel better within hours or days of starting the treatment. Full effect is usually seen within 2 weeks.

Silodosin may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.

If you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Silodosin.

Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.

Dutasteride

Your doctor has prescribed Dutasteride to shrink the enlarged prostate and reduce the risk of urinary retention.

It may take 3 to 6 months to see the full beneficial effect of Dutasteride. Hence, continue taking the medicine as advised by your doctor.

Dutasteride is usually well tolerated. However, it may produce some mild sexual side effects such as low sexual drive.

Do not donate blood for 6 months after taking the last dose of Dutasteride.
