Mednisol 1gm Injection is a steroid. It is used to treat a wide variety of medical conditions such as severe allergic reactions, allergic conditions, asthma, rheumatic disorder, skin and eye disorders, and nephrotic syndrome. It suppresses the immune system and provides relief from inflammation.


Mednisol 1gm Injection is generally given by a doctor or a nurse. Do not self-administered the injection at home. To get the most benefit, get this injection at evenly spaced times and continue using it until your prescription is finished, even if your symptoms disappear after a few days.


The most common side effects of this medicine include mood changes, upset stomach, and pain, swelling, or redness at the site of injection. You could ask your doctor about ways of preventing or reducing these effects. You should stop taking it straight away if you have any signs of an allergic reaction. Prednisone decreases inflammation via suppression of the migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and reversing increased capillary permeability. It also suppresses the immune system by reducing the activity and the volume of the immune system

Pharmacokinets

Pharmacokinetics. Prednisone is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and has a half life of 2–3 hours. it has a volume of distribution of 0.4–1 L/kg. The drug is cleared by hepatic metabolism using cytochrome P450 enzymes.

Contra Indications

Indications

Prednisolone is indicated to treat endocrine, rheumatic, and hematologic disorders; collagen, dermatologic, ophthalmic, respiratory, and gastrointestinal diseases; allergic and edematous states; and other conditions like tuberculous meningitis

Interactions

Some products that may interact with this drug include: aldesleukin, other drugs that weaken the immune system (such as azathioprine, cyclosporine, cancer chemotherapy), mifepristone, drugs that can cause bleeding/bruising (including antiplatelet drugs such as clopidogrel, "blood thinners" such as dabigatran/warfarin
