Metolar 1mg Injection is given under the supervision of a doctor. The dose and frequency depend on what you are taking it for and the severity of your condition. It is given along with continuous monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate. If affected by dizziness, rise slowly while standing from lying or sitting position.
The main side effects of this medicine are a sudden drop in blood pressure, headache, slow heart rate, feeling dizzy, and nausea. These are usually mild and short-lived. It may also cause shortness of breath or low blood pressure in some people. To reduce the risk of side effects your doctor will probably start the medicine at a low dose and gradually increase it. Consult your doctor if the side effects bother you or do not go away.
Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any liver problems. It may also not be suitable for people who have a slow heart rate, severe circulation problems, severe heart failure, or low blood pressure. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should also consult their doctor before taking it. You must talk to your doctor to find out whether this medicine is suitable for you to use. Avoid drinking alcohol as it may increase certain side effects.
Metolar 1mg Injection is a short-acting beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
Metoprolol is absorbed over a large part of the intestine and over 95% of an oral therapeutic dose is generally recovered in the urine as unchanged drug and metabolites. Presystemic elimination accounts for about 50% degradation of acutely administered oral doses.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Q. What is the difference between Metoprolol Succinate and Metolar 1mg Injection?
Metoprolol Succinate is an extended-release form of Metoprolol. This means it is released into your body slowly and only needs to be taken once a day. Metolar 1mg Injection, on the other hand, is available as an immediate-release tablet. It doesn’t stay in your body as long as Metoprolol Succinate does. Hence, multiple doses in a day may be required.
Q. Is Metolar 1mg Injection effective?
Metolar 1mg Injection is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Metolar 1mg Injection too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.
Q. Which is better, Metolar 1mg Injection or Metoprolol Succinate?
Metolar 1mg Injection and Metoprolol Succinate are both effective depending on the condition being treated. Metoprolol Succinate is more effective for treating heart failure. Metoprolol Succinate may also be less likely to cause some side effects as compared to Metolar 1mg Injection.
Q. What if I forget to take a dose of Metolar 1mg Injection?
If you have missed a dose of Metolar 1mg Injection, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, take it in the regular schedule instead of taking the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
