Mucogen 100mg Tablet is a mucosal protective agent. It increases the synthesis of prostaglandin, a chemical messenger which improves healing of the ulcer.

Pharmacokinets

Rebamipide is a mucoprotective agent that reduces gastrointenstinal side effects when administered concomitantly with NSAIDs. In this study, we investigated the pharmacokinetic drug interactions of rebamipide with two selected NSAIDs, celecoxib or diclofenac. Rats were randomly divided into five groups.

Indications

Rebamipide, an amino acid derivative of 2-(1H)-quinolinone, is used for mucosal protection, healing of gastroduodenal ulcers, and treatment of gastritis. It works by enhancing mucosal defense, scavenging free radicals, and temporarily activating genes encoding cyclooxygenase-2.

Interactions

REBAMIPIDE may interact with St. John's wort (a herbal supplement used to treat depression). Drug-Disease Interactions: REBAMIPIDE may interact with various disease conditions, including epilepsy, mania, kidney, liver disease, and blood disorder.
