Natritor 2.5mg Tablet makes you lose excess water through urine. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. This medicine should be taken only during day time to avoid frequent urination at night. You must take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor and never stop it abruptly without consulting the doctor. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse.
It is important to have your blood pressure checked regularly. This medicine is only one part of a treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake, and weight reduction. You can eat normally while taking this medicine, but try to reduce your salt intake.
Common side effects of this medicine include headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, and rashes. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you. Before taking this medicine, it is better to let your doctor know if you are suffering from any kidney or liver disease. Also, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before taking it. You must inform the doctor about all the other medicines that you are taking apart from this medicine. Natritor 2.5mg Tablet is a thiazide diuretic. It lowers blood pressure by removing the extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow.
Indapamide is widely distributed in the body with extensive binding to erythrocytes. Binding to plasma proteins is approximately 76%. Disappearance of indapamide from the blood is biphasic, with a terminal half-life of approximately 16 hours.

Indapamide is a diuretic indicated for use as monotherapy or in combination with other blood pressure-lowering agents to treat hypertension. It may also be used to treat fluid and salt retention associated with congestive heart failure.
Drug-Drug Interactions: INDAPAMIDE may interact with other diuretic medications (furosemide, torsemide), antihypertensive drugs (ramipril, amlodipine, baclofen, levodopa, clonidine), a medicine used to treat bipolar disorder (lithium, risperidone, amisulpride), painkillers (ibuprofen, naproxen), and blood thinners (warfarin).
Drug-Food Interactions: INDAPAMIDE can be taken with or without a meal. However, it should be taken early in the day and at the same time of day. It is best to avoid heavy meals with INDAPAMIDE as it will make medicine to work effectively. However, one should tell their doctor if they are using multi-minerals or any ayurvedic supplements. It is best to limit the intake of salt.
Drug-Disease Interactions: INDAPAMIDE can interact with certain diseases. Hence, it is advisable to tell the doctor about the past or current medical history including anuria (kidneys are not producing urine)/ renal dysfunction, fluid or electrolyte imbalance, liver disease, lumps erythematosus (an autoimmune inflammatory disease-causing scaly red patches on the skin), and asthma.

If you miss a dose of Natritor 2.5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It makes you feel dizzy. Avoid driving and attention requiring activity until you know how it affects you.
Avoid alcohol intake while taking Natritor 2.5mg Tablet as it may increase the dizziness.
It may cause a sudden drop of sodium level in blood. Avoid low sodium diet while you are taking this medication.
Monitor your blood pressure after starting Natritor 2.5mg Tablet, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down.
Notify your doctor if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or muscle weakness that does not go away.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Natritor 2.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Q. Can Natritor 2.5mg Tablet cause gout?
Use of Natritor 2.5mg Tablet may impact the patients already diagnosed with gout. Inform your doctor if you have gout before starting Natritor 2.5mg Tablet. The reason being, this medicine can increase the levels of uric acid in blood in these patients. Such patients may experience episodes of gout while on Natritor 2.5mg Tablet. Your doctor may advise regular monitoring of uric acid.
Q. Can Natritor 2.5mg Tablet increase blood sugar?
Natritor 2.5mg Tablet may increase blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. Tell your doctor if you have diabetes as your insulin requirements may change or the dose of your antidiabetic medicines may need modification. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is important in diabetes patients taking Natritor 2.5mg Tablet.
Q. Does Natritor 2.5mg Tablet make you sleepy?
No, Natritor 2.5mg Tablet does not make you sleepy. But, if there is excessive loss of salts (hyponatremia, hypokalaemia, or electrolyte imbalance), then it may make you drowsy. Other warning signals of electrolyte imbalance include dry mouth, thirst, weakness, fatigue, lethargy, restlessness, muscle pain or cramps. Electrolyte imbalance may also lead to decreased urine output, increased heart beat and decreased blood pressure. In case you notice any of these symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.

Use of Natritor 2.5mg Tablet tend to increase the frequency of urination in some patients. Natritor 2.5mg Tablet belongs to thiazide class of medicines which are diuretics.
