Nistin 100000IU Ointment is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The affected area should be clean and dry before application of the ointment. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. To avoid relapse, continue the use of this medicine even if symptoms begin to clear up.
Some common side effects include skin irritation, redness or itching at the site of application. Please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Avoid direct contact of the cream or ointment with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water and seek immediate medical attention.
Nistin 100000IU Ointment is an antifungal medication. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane.
Nystatin is not appreciably absorbed from the skin, mucous membranes, or gastrointestinal tract. After swallowing, the bulk of the administered dose appears unchanged in the feces. Because of unacceptable systemic toxicity, nystatin is not used parenterally.

Hypersensitivity to nystatin is a contraindication for its use. Some nystatin oral suspension preparations contain sugar and are unsuitable for children with disaccharide intolerance.
Nistin 100000IU Ointment may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Nistin 100000IU Ointment via licking.
Nystatin is indicated for the treatment of candidal infections of the skin, mucous membranes and gastrointestinal tract. It is not absorbed orally and thus not indicated for invasive fungal infections.

Nistin 100000IU Ointment is an antifungal medicine which is used for the treatment against a wide variety of yeasts and yeast-like fungi. Nistin 100000IU Ointment exerts its antifungal action by damaging the cell membrane of fungi like Candida, thereby stopping its growth. It is used for the prevention and treatment of Candidal infections of the oral cavity, esophagus and intestinal tract. Most commonly, it is used to treat oral thrush (affecting inner lining of mouth) caused by Candida albicans. Nistin 100000IU Ointment is not active against bacteria, protozoa, or viruses.
Q. Does Nistin 100000IU Ointment treat ringworms?
Nistin 100000IU Ointment is not approved for the treatment of ringworm. Nistin 100000IU Ointment is more effective against yeast infections as compared to the fungus which causes ringworm. Antifungal agents like terbinafine, fluconazole, clotrimazole, miconazole can be used to treat ringworm infections.

Yes, Nistin 100000IU Ointment can be used on face, but do not use this medicine without consulting your doctor. Take care not to apply it in or around your eyes. Also remember that it is ineffective against many common fungal infections and active only against yeast infections. Additionally, it should not be used on bacterial or virus infections.
Q. How do you use Nistin 100000IU Ointment cream?
Wash the affected area and dry it properly before application of the cream. Apply Nistin 100000IU Ointment cream to the affected area twice daily until complete healing or as directed by the physician. Remember to wash your hands after applying the medicine. Do not cover or bandage the affected area unless directed by your doctor. When used for diaper rash in infants, do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants. Take care while using this medicine on your face. Avoid any contact with the eyes. Nistin 100000IU Ointment cream is preferred over ointment in areas like the armpits, the anogenital region, skin folds of the breasts and between the fingers and toes.
