If your condition does not improve after using it for 4 to 6 months, tell your doctor. This medicine is to be used only by men and not indicated in women.

It is generally safe, however, it may cause few common side effects such as application site reactions, dry skin, impotence, decreased libido, ejaculation disorders, breast enlargement, breast tenderness in males, and skin rash. Talk to your doctor if you are bothered by side effects or they do not go away.

Basic Information

Mechanism Of Action

Novegrow 5% solution contains a combination of minoxidil and finasteride as active ingredients.

Minoxidil stimulates the hair to enter the growing phase. It also widens the blood vessels on the scalp which increases blood circulation to hair follicles. This promotes follicle size increase which helps hair growth.

Finasteride works by reducing the production of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). In males with a hereditary or premature risk for baldness, this hormone DHT is believed to bind to hair follicles and cause them to shrink, resulting in hair loss.

Pharmacokinets

Minoxidil is readily absorbed following oral administration. Peak plasma concentrations occur within 1 h of oral administration, with the hypotensive effect occurring within 30 min and peaking between 2 and 8 h after administration.Finasteride undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism to essentially inactive metabolites, which are eliminated through the bile and urine. The terminal elimination half-life (t1/2z) is 4.7 to 7.1 hours; but despite this, slow accumulation occurs with multiple doses.
